Tying in with the TV series "Howard Goodall's Choir Works", is this hugely enjoyable disc of world premieres of his choral music, including the very popular themes to the universally loved Mr Bean and The Vicar of Dibley. This CD is the first to be devoted to Goodall's choral music, sacred and secular. His style is immediately accessible, undeniably English in its lyricism and tunefulness. The Choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, is of course one of the very finest of our university city choirs.
