Tickets are now available for the première performance of Missa Aedes Christi, a new work by Francis Grier, presented by Christ Church Cathedral Choir and the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.
This remarkable new setting of the Mass, commissioned in 2012, is the result of an artistic collaboration between the composer, Francis Grier, Stephen Darlington, Director of Music at Christ Church Cathedral since 1985, and Ross McKim, Director of the Cathedral Dance Project and Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.
Francis Grier was the obvious choice for this bold and innovative composition. He has established himself as a significant contemporary composer of sacred music and received much acclaim for the originality of his compositional style, reflected in major commissions for Westminster Abbey, King’s College, Cambridge, Christ Church, Oxford and St George’s Chapel, Windsor, amongst others.
The first concert performance, on 21 June, will be preceded by two liturgical performances earlier in the week: Choral Eucharist on 16 June (without dance) and Choral Eucharist on 19 June (with dance).
Tickets may be booked online at www.cantatadramatica.com or by telephoning 07766 103427. Prices from £5 to £20 (concessions available).
All are welcome to attend Choral Eucharist and no tickets are required.
This project has been sponsored by Cantata Dramatica and the Friends of Christ Church Cathedral.
We hope to see you there!
